About

Hello

My name is Karen Zhu. I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill double majoring in biology and journalism. I hope to become a biologist with a media background, engaging the public with research in the life sciences and sharing the stories of the scientists behind those research endeavors and discoveries. Currently, I write for Carolina Scientific Magazine, the undergraduate science journal at UNC. As a staff writer, I interview UNC professors about their researches and published primary literature. My job is to translate scienfitic termonology in academia into lucid, understandable short reads for the entire UNC student body. In the remains of my undergraduate career at UNC, I plan on continuing my role as a staff writer and as embark on research addressing my own inquiries of the natural world.
